Masut, California

Masut (also, Ma-su-ta-kea and Masu-ta-kaya) is a Pomo settlement in Mendocino County, California, [1] It is located 3 miles (4.8 km) northwest of Calpella.  [1] The same name was also given to a group of Pomo people associated with the city

The Masut Pomo are known to travel widely, [1] sometimes traveling as far as 50 kilometers to Clear Lake to mine obsidian and magnesite with permission from other Pomo who own the area.
