Overview
dezieThe International Day for People of African Descent is a United Nations initiative aimed at acknowledging and safeguarding the rights of individuals of African descent all over the world as a unique group. This Day is celebrated annually on 31st August. This observance seeks to highlight the significant contributions of the African diaspora globally and combat all forms of discrimination against them. International days embody shared societal values, emphasizing that every human being is born free and equal in dignity and rights, with the potential to positively impact their communities. Any ideology of racial superiority is scientifically unfounded, morally unacceptable, socially unjust, and harmful, and must be rejected.
