Overview

Gaining Visibility for Secondary Schools in Eastern Nigeria, is a Wikidata project that is focused at updating and improving the number and quality of contents on Wikidata. The goal is to increase the number and visibility of Secondary Schools in Eastern Nigeria on Wikidata by adding more items, creating, documenting, translating and improving items.

The project is positioned at improving the index capacity and quality of contents and creating Visibility for Secondary Schools in Eastern Nigeria on Wikidata by adding statements and other informations which can help the community by improving the list of Secondary Schools existing on wikidata.

The project will include an edit a thon where participants will be creating Items on wikidata for duration of 3days.

• Launch: The project will be launched on Aug 29th

• Duration: 3hours

• Venue: Faculty of Management Science Hall 16, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Anambra state.

• Edit a thon starts: 29th of August 2024 by 11:00AMUTC+1

• Edit a thon ends: 31st August 2024 by 11:59 PM UTC+1

Expectations

At the end of this project the following expectations should be met:

1. Learn how to search for lists and details of Secondary Schools in Eastern Nigeria.
2. Learn how to check if Secondary Schools in Eastern Nigeria is already existing on Wikidata as an Item.
3. Learn how to document, create, translate,and improve Wikidata Items.
4. Learn how to improve an already existing Wikidata Item by adding coordinate location and other missing statements.
5. Learn how to add value to Wikidata statements.
